Mine Kafon Drone It is a peculiar drone designed by the brothers Massoud and Madmud Hassani. Among its most interesting peculiarities to highlight, for example, that it is capable of eliminating landmines some 20 times faster than using traditional means. As a detail, tell you that just a few years ago, these two entrepreneurs managed to create a terrestrial device capable of carrying out this work, although, according to what they say, when using a drone this exercise becomes much faster and more efficient.
To make Mine Kafon Drone a reality, the brothers have decided, for the first time, to bet on opening a crowdfunding campaign through Kickstarter to raise the $ 70.000 necessary to begin the manufacturing processes of this peculiar and interesting drone. As a detail, tell you that the idea has been a success since, just several days before it closes, they have already managed to raise nothing less than U.S. dollar 115.000.
Mine Kafon Drone, a system with which to eliminate land mines 20 times faster
As you can see, the authors of this project propose us a great way to get rid of this type of artifact. As a detail, tell you that the idea arose from the enormous number of years that the country of the Hassani brothers has been in a warlike conflict since they both grew up in Afghanistan. Because of this, their country literally, as they themselves say, is plagued with explosive devices that, being hidden and their location forgotten, claim the lives of about ten people a day.
With this in mind, it is much easier to understand the meaning of creating Mine Kafon Drone, a 4.5 kilogram hexacopter that, thanks to a geo-positioning system, is capable of locating mines in a digital model. Once they have been detected the system takes care of its detonation in three steps. First, the drone flies over the ground applying 3D mapping technology and the mines are located using a GPS signal. After this location, the drone descends to just four centimeters from the ground and detects the mines thanks to an integrated metal detector. Finally, it deposits a small explosive charge that is what detonates the mine once the Mine Kafon Drone has moved far enough away.
