MIT shows us its new and unique drones with wheels

MIT drone

At MIT have wanted to go much further and this time they have decided to combine in the same prototype, if we can call it that, nothing less than two completely different concepts although very similar in some of their characteristics such as drones and vehicles of four wheels.

I say similar in some of its parts referring almost exclusively to that characteristic that both have in terms of the possibility of being completely autonomous. With this in mind, researchers and engineers at MIT have not been slow to see the possibility of creating a prototype that, being completely autonomous, you can both fly like a drone or go on the road when needed.

MIT surprises us with a prototype autonomous drone ideal for the most crowded cities.

The idea is to solve part of the problems that each concept has by itself, that is, flying consumes much more energy than moving on the ground since you have to lift your weight and fight against the wind, but move on the ground, at the same time. Once it is more interesting in terms of energy, it leads us to get fully into those big traffic jams, for example, that we all know.

With this in mind, the proposal that comes to us from MIT with this prototype is more than evident since we would only have to go from one state to another when appropriate and the battery levels allow us, to solve this autonomously. , the engineers in charge of the project development are already working on a Artificial Intelligence decide at all times.
