MOOZ, a 3D printer with the ability to engrave and cut wood

One of the big bets that many 3D printer manufacturers make is to offer a much more versatile product by adding functionality that, otherwise, you would have to achieve by acquiring a new machine. This is the idea behind the project MOOZ, a 3D printer that, as stated in the title of this post, is capable, in addition to 3D print, engrave and cut wood.

To achieve all this versatile functionality, MOOZ designers have opted for the installation of different interchangeable heads who perform each of these different jobs. As a detail, tell you that, perhaps to complicate things even more, there are 3 different models of the MOOZ, each model offers improvements in terms of printing speed and even the possibility of mixing colors.

MOOZ, a 3D printer capable of cutting and engraving wood by simply changing its heads

If you are interested in getting one of the MOOZs, tell you that today you can do it at a more than interesting price since its creators seek financing through the well-known Kickstarter. Thanks to this you can literally get a unit for just U.S. dollar 239, about 205 euros at the current exchange rate. As a detail, tell you that getting the heads to cut and engrave wood will cost you other $ 79 each, about 68 euros to change.

At this point I have to confess that the truth seems to me a very attractive project, especially if you do not have a 3D printer since combining all these characteristics in the same model at such a cheap price seems too much to achieve great results. We have the proof in that the company was looking for $ 50.000 to start manufacturing it and today they have obtained more than U.S. dollar 450.000.
