Murcia will use drones to monitor the waters of the Mar Menor

Mar Menor

To help teams maritime surveillance of the Mar Menor of Murcia, the council has decided to provide them with drones capable of monitoring the waters of the inland sea. These new drones will be able to support vessels and personnel on foot in the environmental conservation tasks that are currently being carried out, such as knowing the color of the waters thanks to the taking of aerial images.

In addition to the arrival of a series of drones, the maritime surveillance team of the Mar Menor de Murcia will be reinforced with the arrival of more vessels to support the exhaustive investigation of the waters that is being carried out in the area. Thanks to this deployment, biologists, ecologists, skippers and other professionals from the marine world will work taking measurements of luminosity, salinity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen in these waters.

The Region of Murcia will add drones to the surveillance teams working in the Mar Menor.

After a month and a half of work, unfortunately the results are not very flattering. Even so, the experts who work in the Mar Menor assure that the measures that are being applied to alleviate this situation will have long-term effects and not, as many hope, immediately. Hopefully, with all the measures that are being taken and the technological and economic deployment that is being carried out in the area, they will help to return to this inland sea of the Region of Murcia its healthier aspect.
