Is Nintendo Labo the arrival of video games to the maker world?

Last week the Nintendo company surprised us with an interesting announcement for every maker user: the launch of Nintendo Labo. Jokes aside, this project involves the ability to create custom accessories without the need to spend amounts of money on the part of the end user.

Although we have to say that such accessories are constructed of cardboard and therefore their life expectancy will not be the same as a plastic accessory that we can buy in a video game store.

If you look at the presentation video, the accessories that can be built with Nintendo Labo are many and varied, not to mention creative and unique. But my wake-up call is not precisely in these cardboard accessories but in the fact that they can be reproduced with a 3D printer.

Long ago i ran into various accessories for Nintendo Switch, accessories that could be printed on a 3D printer and that they helped us to have a personalized support for our game console. But, now, with these accessories, we can build our own piano, our fishing rod or our motorcycle to be able to play Nintendo Switch video games. And so enjoy even more without the need to spend money on a certain accessory, we will only need a 3D printer and possibly an object scanner or our imagination. But, possibly, in a short time, if it doesn't exist already, in object repositories such as Instructables or Thingiverse you will find models to print directly.

In any case, I personally think Nintendo Labo opens a path of collaboration between makers and video games that had not been opened until now and that it can make the Internet of Things also have its funny side or at least its gamer side. I don't know what you think of Nintendo Labo or what future you see for this Nintendo project, but surely no one has left anyone indifferent Do not you think?
