Open your garage door with this Arduino fingerprint detector

fingerprint detector

We are Friday afternoon, with no place being the ideal time to start preparing that project with which we will try to have fun this weekend. For this weekend I propose nothing less than the creation of a fingerprint detector with which to open, for example, the door of your garage or any room in your house that you deem appropriate thanks to Arduino. As a detail, tell you that in this project, in addition to a card Arduino Uno, a fingerprint reader is used Sparkfun GT-511C1R.

Going into a little more detail, tell you that this peculiar fingerprint reader is made up of two parts, an external panel that is the module that houses the fingerprint reader as well as a Nokia LCD screen. On the other hand, the system has been endowed with a ATmega328P MCU which will be in charge of controlling the external control panel while a ATtiny85 drives the indoor unit. Both devices communicate with each other through a serial connection.

The final operation of the system is much simpler than you imagine, there is a button that when pressed activates the external screen and the scanner, the user at this time must put his finger on the fingerprint reader, if it is recognized it is sends a signal for the garage door or the door of a certain room to open. Without a doubt, as I said, a more than interesting project that we could put to the test in no time.
