The Orange Pi project continues. Although we recently knew a model based on Raspberry Pi Zero W, now we are presented with a model oriented to the world of IoT and in relation to Windows IoT. In this case we have a powerful SBC board that not only supports traditional operating systems but also has a Windows IoT image.
Image that will be supported or rather, created in collaboration with Microsoft itself. This model is based on the old Orange Pi Win board, however the power and hardware has changed considerably.
The Orange Pi Win Plus model is composed of a processor Allwinner A64 composed of four cores. Along with the processor, the SBC board has 2 Gb of ram memory. The internal storage is provided by a slot for microsd cards and an eMMC Flash memory. As for the connections, Orange Pi Win Plus has an Ethernet port, a Wifi and Bluetooth module with an antenna for the Wi-Fi connection.
Orange Pi Win Plus not only contains 2 Gb of ram but also a wifi and bluetooth module
The ports that Orange Pi Win Plus has are hdmi for the displays, a lcd screen port, four USB ports and audio and microphone output. Like Raspberry Pi, Orange Pi Win Plus has a GPIO port, a port that will allow us to expand and decrease the functions of the board.
Orange Pi Win Plus can work with Android 6, Debian, Ubuntu, Raspbian, and Windows IoT. The SBC board is geared towards this operating system to facilitate the IoT world for users using Windows. However, the power of this board makes Orange Pi Win Plus ideal for Ubuntu or Linux users, users who want to use the board as a minipc or simply as a powerful brain for our project. In any case, for about 30 euros, Orange Pi Win Plus is a great alternative Do not you think?
