Picaso 3D presents its new 3D printer, the ODIN model

Picaso - 3d-odin

The company picaso 3d has used the Form Next 2016 to present your new 3D printer, the ODIN model. This printer will incorporate the latest and greatest dual nozzle extruder with JetSwitch technology. This technology has been invented and patented by the manufacturer himself.

This double extruder allows switch between two media at a speed of 25 tenths of a second. A negligible speed if we compare it with the 5 seconds that may take time some competitive printers.

Founded in 2010 by Andrey Isupov and Maxim Anisimov. In the year 2011, released the Odin's predecessor model, the model PICASO PRO250. This model, which was the first device with the JetSwitch extruder in its interior, already has sold more than 4000 units during 2016.

»It is a robust closed-chamber dual-nozzle machine, delivering industrial-grade quality in the desktop format»

With this improvement time is reduced that the printer uses to perform the nozzle change for printing on 2 materials. During the nozzle change it completely stops the flow of the second material without reducing the operating temperature. And by means of a supply valve, it is switched as quickly as possible between two materials. To the extent that the manufacturer assures us that the impressions a 40% faster than competitive printers.

Picaso ODIN Features

Although we still do not have the complete list of characteristics, we can tell you that it will print in a wide variety of materials including: ABS, PLA, HIPS, FLEX and PVA soluble in water. They are even working to allow printing on rubber, nylon.

La selection of a material profile or another will be very simple and can be done from the same printer display.

As in previous models, it seems that the printing area will be 200x200x200 mm and will have a 50 micron resolution. As most of today's printers have warm bed to reduce warping.

The manufacturer has announced that it will put for sale your extruder independently so that makers can update their existing printers with it.
It seems that the price of the printer will be around the 4000€, the price of the head is unknown if it is acquired independently.

Although the manufacturer's printers picaso 3d They cannot be bought in Spain yet, it seems like a very interesting product and we will follow up on it.
