One of the first obstacles that 3D printing had to reach the public is that another type of printer was needed to be able to print objects, that is, it was not worth the traditional printers, along with this was added the high cost of creating a printer adapted to our demands.
Well, it seems that all those pleas of people who wanted to have only one printer have had their reward, Printder offers the ability to create 3D objects with 2D printers.
Although it seems impossible, the reality is that Printder has created a special paper and inks that allow the 2D printer to create 3D objects. A simple and easy process to do since together with this paper and ink, Printder uses simple files, nothing of several complicated CAD files but a pdf can be printed directly and that's it. Once the printing is finished and we have the object ready, we remove the excess paper with a little water and we have the object created.
The size of the created object is not very large but it is still interesting since the print can be 15 cm x 21 cm. x 10 cm, approximately. A size that is obviously determined by the printer's paper tray, but if the object is rotated, the result can be interesting.
Printder's invention will allow us to print a large object in 45 min.
The creation time, according to Printder assures is quite fast, about 45 minutes at most, a fairly fast time for large objects. Of course, Printder has not indicated when all this will work well and what price these materials will have, but the process already promises a lot. And I am not only saying this for the company but for the technology, whether it succeeds or not, the Printder product marks a milestone for 3D printing as it opens the way for the renewal of printers, and can now work on the path of unifying the two devices into one, something that many will surely appreciate.
