Raspberry Pi to launch a new Compute Module soon

Compute Module

Apparently before the year is out we will have among us a new model of Raspberry Pi 3, a model that this time is based on the Compute Module version, the famous version that is oriented to more personal and more powerful developments.

Compute Module is an SBC board that is shaped like ram memory, but it does not work as such, although it does have serious deficiencies such as communication ports or the famous GPIO port that so characterizes Raspberry Pi.

In this case the information is known to us by this source where he talks about a renewed Compute Module that is based on Raspberry Pi 3 but unlike this one, the new Compute Module will not have a Wi-Fi connection.

Compute Module with a new Kit will be available soon

In addition to the new board, the Raspberry Pi Foundation will launch a new development kit where the user can find a suitable expansion to insert this Compute Module and its new technology. Like Raspberry Pi 3, Compute Module will have a 64-bit architecture with a processor that works with that technology, the same as the one used in the Raspberry Pi.

It is expected that this new plate goes on sale for 24 dollars, a lower price than normal, but it is also true that Compute Module has fewer components than Raspberry Pi 3. We do not know if this is real or not, but I do not doubt it because the latest Compute Module model is over 2 years old, so it may be updated as well as your development kit. It also appears that the Raspberry Pi has been «chopped»To launch a new board at the end of the year so this board would fit in well with those plans.

Personally I think a new version of Compute Module will appear soon, but sadly it is not a multipurpose board like the original Raspberry Pi, at least not in its Mini PC look What do you think?
