They reconstruct the face of Mary Magdalene from the remains of her skull

Mary Magdalene

From Brazil we receive information on how the team led by Cicero Moraes, responsible for the reconstruction of the face of Saint Anthony of Padua, has just dared to Santa María Magdalena, one of the most famous figures of Catholicism, thanks to an express request made by José Luis Lira, specialist in Catholic saints.

For this purpose, express permission was obtained to work with the skull remains that are conserved of Maria Magdalena that are still conserved in the basilica dedicated to this entity in Saint-Maximim-la-Sainte-Baume, located in the south of France. After a fairly long period of time in which they were trying to convince the person in charge of the basilica to work on the face of the saint, finally, although with considerable restrictions, he agreed and the result is quite interesting.

From the first moment the restrictions imposed by the parish priest were such that, despite having requested forty sessions to analyze the skull, those responsible only had seven sessions so time was very limited and the study had to be left unfinished. Even so, several conclusions were drawn, such as the skull belonged to a white woman and other conclusions since, as experts assure, numerous conclusions can be drawn about the physiognomy of a human from the skull.

Without a doubt, it must be recognized that the results are quite surprising, although, as the team that has carried out this work assures us, They cannot 100% assure that Mary Magdalene had this image from a biological point of view since the time used in the study has been too short.
