Regemat 3D begins testing its 3D printed fabrics in Mexico

Regemat 3D

After a long time of development and research, finally the Spanish company Regemat 3D, currently based in the city of Granada, has just announced that they are now ready to carry out the first clinical trials of their tissues for regeneration manufactured in 3D. These first tests in patients will take place in Mexico City in groups that seek the regeneration of heart valves, ophthalmology, drugs ...

As the company itself comments, what Regemat 3D really does is literally create software with which you can later 3D print fabrics or custom parts according to design or segment obtained through a CT or Magnetic Resonance. To this we must add that they have managed to develop a configurable system capable of injecting or depositing stem cells, which allows a piece to be regenerated from these cells.

Regemat 3D will begin to carry out the first clinical trials in patients in Mexico.

As he commented Jose Manuel Baena, Director of Regemat 3D:

The novelty is to 3D print a piece with the geometry you want and configure it to inject cells so that we already have a custom 3D piece with distributed cells with the ability to regenerate tissue because they come from stem cells.

In many applications there is still a lot of research to regenerate certain tissues, as our product can add bioprinting and adapt the machine to each piece. We speak with the research group to find out what they want to do, what clinical application and what they want to check and the bioprinter is developed already prepared for those needs. The design is specific. Each print is unique.

We must go step by step. What is now done with synthetic material must be converted into bioprinted and disappear. You have to keep working hard. First, the change of synthetic material for another that degrades, put cells on it and from there where it can be reached.
