Surely many of you have the odd CRT monitor at home. The old monitors that in many cases took up more space than the computer itself. Many of these monitors were abandoned in pursuit of flat panel monitors, but many others were abandoned because they were broken and cost more to repair than the new monitor.
Surely many of you are familiar with this situation. Well, a user who loves retro has achieved revive an old CRT monitor thanks to a plate Arduino UNO.
The story begins when the MmmmFloorPie user purchases an old monochrome CRT monitor. This monitor worked but his old Motorola 6800 electronics quickly got screwed up, an electronics that's hard to come by these days. The user in question decided use a plate Hardware Libre as a substitute for the electronics of this CRT monitor. The test worked correctly and the monitor, although still emitting black and white, works correctly.
This means that any user who has a CRT monitor or simply finds one in a clean spot, can recover it thanks to Arduino boards. In this case, the user MmmmFloorPie had gotten the monitor for $ 20, which together with the price of the Arduino board makes a total of about 50 dollars approximately the arrangement of this monitor. If we take into account that flat panel monitors are still priced above 100 euros, the savings are considerable. That is, as long as we do not have a flat monitor as a CRT monitor.
