Rock64, a new Pine64 board to compete with everyone

SBC Rock64 board

Little by little the manufacturer Pine64 is making a place for itself among the users of SBC boards. The success of this company's products has reached such an extent that it will soon launch a new SBC board, a board known as Rock64. This model will be a more powerful SBC board model than the Pine64 version and even more powerful than Raspberry Pi boards.

This model has dimensions similar to a credit card. Rock64 has a 64-bit processor, an ARM-53 quadcore processor and, unlike other SBC boards, Rock64 has several versions that vary depending on the amount of ram we want.

Rock64 has several versions that depend on the amount of ram memory

Rock64 has versions with 1 Gb of ram memory, 2 Gb of ram and 4 Gb of ram. Models with different prices but that keep the rest of the Rock64 components. Rock64 has an hdmi port, an Ethernet port, USB ports, a GPIO port, a slot for microsd cards as well as eMMC storage, a wifi and bluetooth module; and, of course, on and off buttons. Rock64 supported operating systems are Debian, Android and Yocto. There are few operating systems but it is expected that the number of systems that are compatible with this type of hardware will soon increase.

The Rock64 price may be the best it has. In this aspect the 1 Gb ram model will cost $ 25; the 2Gb model will cost $ 35 and the 4Gb model will cost $ 45. Quite low prices if we take into account the amount of ram and the power of the board. Unfortunately Rock64 is not available yet, it is officially launched in pre-order and will reach our hands at the end of July. But it's an acceptable amount of time for this team, don't you think?
