Licenses to fly drones in Spain are skyrocketing

TO THAT

As expected and according to data provided by the administration itself, in 2017 the requests were multiplied by five, by both companies and individuals seeking to legalize their situation, to fly drones in Spain. Thanks to this and according to published data, to date it has already more than 2.700 certified operators in our country at the end of 2017.

A curious fact has been that at the end of December we have had a great boom in applications to be able to fly large-scale drones legally in Spain, something to which the administration has contributed, or at least that is what the administration dictates. during december the new regulations have been approved by which it is allowed to fly over cities, on night flights or over crowds.

From the AESA they indicate that this boom in license applications is due to the entry into force of the new regulatory regulations for drones

In the words of Isabel Maestre, General Director of the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency, we are facing a regulation that is highly demanded by photography, film and plant and crop surveillance service companies. Thanks to this reform Now it will be possible to carry out all those projects that the transitory regulations did not allow. This reform also makes it clear that more expert and professional pilots with considerable experience in each type of operation will be needed in the short term.

On the other hand, the arrival of this new regulation will help considerably the development and research of new drones dedicated to the surveillance of large industrial facilities. A very clear example of this we have, for example, in the Aeroarms project through which it seeks to design and build a drone that is capable of repairing structures at high altitude, a job that until now was done by people who 'played the type' and now it will be carried out with this type of mechanical device.
