Siemens NX AM, a joint work of Siemens and HP

Siemens NXAM

Some time ago, specifically in June of last year, two large technology groups such as Siemens y HP announced their intentions to cooperate in a joint effort where the main objective was to develop new solutions for 3D printing to become a pure tool for the development of all kinds of prototypes within the industrial production process.

To carry out this complex project, HP positioned itself as the one in charge of continuing to develop its 3D printing machines while Siemens was going to be in charge of the software development that would allow this. After all these months we know the baptized as Siemens NXAM, a software tool capable of allowing the design, optimization and manufacture of both metal and plastic components.

Siemens NX AM is the new software tool designed to take advantage of all the features offered by HP's multiple fusion

As commented Stephen Black, current 3D Printing Director for HP:

Customers want to take advantage of HP's new multi-fusion technology to control the properties of materials and components at the pixel level. To achieve this, they need CAD / CAM / CAE systems that support well-developed simulation and design techniques.

Siemens software expertise in product lifecycle management combined with HP innovations will help develop 3D printing from pure prototype to end-to-end production solution.

Thanks to this software, both companies have already achieved several short-term successes such as this software, certified by HP, now is available in Siemens PLM Software as an extension of the end-to-end design-to-production solution for additive manufacturing. This enables users of HP's Multi-Jet Fusion technology to develop components in a single software environment, avoiding costly and delays in data conversion as well as the use of third-party tools.
