Sunbot and Shadebot, Arduino for indoor plants

sunbot

El Hardware Libre It is reaching the plant world, the world of agriculture and its workers, making their lives and work easier. As proof of this we have good examples such as BQ's Gaia project or hydroponics projects. But there are other projects that help the plant world and people. One of these projects is called sunbot, a robot built with Arduino boards.

Along with Sunbot there is another robot called Shadebot, a complement to the first or rather a variation since both robots work the same.

The creators of Sunbot and Shadebot want indoor plants to take care of themselves outdoors by always offering them moisture and sunlight in the amount they need. Thus, the robots move and scroll to look for sunlight or moisture to offer to the plants without having to move them ourselves, since as environmental circumstances change, the position of the robots will change ...

Sunbot and Shadebot are robots that have been built with various servo motors, Arduino boards, humidity sensors, and photovoltaic panels. The project is totally free although for the moment We cannot download the necessary software, nor can we count on the models and creation guides to be able to have these nice robots, but surely that over the next few days we will find that information.

Sunbot is a robot, an interesting project because we can not only use it with indoor plants but we can also do it with any other type of plant, making the use of light bulbs not necessary for certain plants to live in a healthy way. The counterpart that would be Shadebot is also interesting since not all plants need sunlight and if high doses of humidity, although for these plants it is still best to use a basement.

In any case, these projects demonstrate once again that the natural world is not incompatible with the Hardware Libre but quite the opposite, you just need a little imagination so that both fit together better. Do not you think?
