Thanks to this technology it is possible to know what is inside a closed room

This week many research and development projects are seeing the light that attract special attention not only in terms of the use that is being given, or is intended to give, to drones, but also because of the new technology that is being used or the interesting applications and brilliant solutions that are being achieved.

Today I want to tell you about the latest work published by the Santa Barbara University (California) where they have developed a new method or way of working where they can find out what is inside a closed room using a couple of drones and technology such as Google Tango and a simple WiFi emitter.

Two drones, a WiFi signal and a Raspberry Pi are used to find out what is inside a closed room.

Going into a little more detail, tell you that two drones are needed because one of them must have the WiFi emitter and Google Tango installed while the second unit has been equipped with a WiFi receiver and a Raspberry Pi. As you are sure you are imagining, one of them will be in charge of sending WiFi signals through the room while the second will receive this signal, depending on the intensity of the waves that are received, it can be generate a 3D model of the interior of the room.

At the moment, as those responsible for the project have published, the creation of this model is not entirely exact since it exists between 3 and 4% failure in measurements, a truly very small figure if we understand that we are dealing with a technology that has practically just been developed and still has a lot of work to do to become a final product.
