The Valencian Community is interested in the advantages offered by the use of drones in emergency situations

Valencian Community

After months of trial, the rulers of the Valencian Community reached an unprecedented agreement in Spain, something that last June literally led them to approve a modification at the regional level for the Territorial Emergency Plan which included the protocol to be used by the relevant authorities for the use of drones in an emergency situation.

Thanks to this movement we know the way in which the authorities act in the Community of Valencia is, in the first place, to be allowed to fly over the intervention area if a prior consent from the director of the Forward Command Post. In the event that other units are flying over the area, the entire team, including the drones, will be part of the Basic Unit for the Coordination of Drones and / or Air Resources.

The Valencian Community creates its own legislation to be able to use drones in emergency situations

This new legislation has been drawn up by no less than israel quintanilla, personnel belonging to the Cartographic Engineering department of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. For its part, it must be recognized that in its development the collaboration of Jose Maria Oliet, belonging to the general subdirectorate of Forest Policy of Mapama that has been in charge of sharing the latest lessons learned in the use of drones in forest fires.

As expected, the truth is that the relevant authorities, see for example firefighting teams, police, civil guard, civil protection ... are more than interested in being able to use this type of new technologies that promise so much in this type of tasks, same, in this case drones, which can be of tremendous help thanks to can offer a totally different point of view than usual.
