The DGT will use drones from 2019

DGT

Many are the organizations and even institutions that are beginning to use new technologies in their daily tasks with a more than interesting performance. With this in mind and taking into account the taste they have in the DGT By using the latest technology available for traffic control, it is not surprising that they talk about making use of this technology.

As has been announced by the General Directorate of Traffic, DGT, and appears in a recent decree of the Ministry of Development, apparently everything is ready for the agency to start using this type of unmanned aircraft, which, as expected, will incorporate state-of-the-art technology in order to be able to use them for real-time traffic control.

The DGT will use drones to control remotely and much more effectively the road traffic of the different roads

In order to ensure that the Government of Spain is free to use this kind of drones, the DGT has not hesitated for a second to make use of an argument such as that the accident rate on the roads during 2017 is higher, although in a light way, to that of the previous exercise. Due to this, the DGT itself announces that need to expand road traffic supervision on all roads.

Tell you that these types of programs are currently being tested in very different locations. A proof of this we have in the project that is being carried out today and through which many agents of the Valencia Local Police They have already been trained to pilot this class of aircraft and thus be able to carry out urban traffic control tasks.

As a detail, just offer you one more piece of information and that is that all these agents who already have the ability to fly this class of drones have been formed by the Department of Geophysics and Cartography of Aeronautical Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
