LIBRECON 2018 manages to gather more than 1200 visitors

On November 21 and 22, the LibreCon Powered by CEBIT took place in the city of Bilbao, one of the largest events related to Free Software and free technological solutions, including work with Free Hardware.
This year, as in previous editions, it was held in the city of Bilbao. A city that repeats for the third time as the host city, within an event that reaches its eighth edition. In this edition has brought together more than 1.200 people related to Free Technologies.

Although the most notable is the speed networking activity, an activity that has brought together more than 500 companies that live or need Free Software to provide their services.
In addition to speed networking, LibreCon Powered by CEBIT has featured talks and presentations by the most relevant figures in Free Software as well as representatives of the most important technological companies that use Free Software such as Red Hat, Serikat or OVH.

Richard Stallman, the great guru of the GNU world, also gave his presentation explaining the virtues and benefits of Free Software.
The second day of LibreCon Powered By CEBIT was dedicated to awarding the event prizes, in this case the relevant winners were Carsten Emde from OSADL and Lorena Fernández from the University of Deusto.
Curiously, this edition of LibreCon Powered by CEBIT had public money from the Bilbao City Council, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Basque Government to carry out the various activities carried out during the LibreCon Powered by CEBIT. And it catches our attention because public organizations are still shy about Free Technologies and the solutions they offer us.
Over time, LibreCon has become an important event that grows little by little, being a great tool for promoting free technologies. An event that increasingly brings together more companies and that makes a reality that maxim that it is possible to earn money with Free Technologies.
