The PC Challenge, a new Raspberry Pi challenge

fan

Many of us have ever used a Raspberry Pi as a minipc. Perhaps the greatest success of this SBC board is that: being able to be used as a minipc. But still, there are many differences between a normal desktop computer or maybe not?

MagPi magazine has come up with a curious challenge, the PC Challenge, a challenge that consists of using the Raspberry Pi as a regular computer for a week, replacing the desktop computer.

The PC Challenge has been offered to editor Rob Zwetsloot. An editor that although he knows and loves Raspberry Pi, it is true that he had not used it as a regular computer.

For this challenge, Rob has chosen the Raspberry Pi 3 together with Raspbian. A logical decision since it is the most powerful board of all and the most stable operating system that exists for the raspberry computer. Even though the computer has a wifi module, Rob will use the ethernet port for the internet connection. As standard applications, Rob has chosen Chromium, LibreOffice and Claws Mail. In addition, of course, the applications that come by default in Raspbian. You can have more information about the challenge in MagPi's 59th magazine.

The challenge has been overcome, but it is also true that Rob Zwetsloot you are not the only one who can do this challenge with a Raspberry Pi. From here we propose that you do the same challenge at home.

You can choose the Raspberry Pi model you want, you can also choose the software you want, without forgetting that you can change the operating system, the type of connection or even the usual applications. The web browser can be changed, Although it is true that Chromium is the browser that has the most web services, although it is also the browser that consumes the most resources. I propose to make your PC Challenge and tell it, tell it on your social networks, on your blogs or even in the comments of this article.
