The Tor network reaches the Internet of Things

Tor Network

Currently the Tor Network is being popular not because of its effectiveness but because of the controversies and situations it is causing, however, not everything is bad. As we have recently learned, The Tor Network will reach the Internet of Things thanks to the Home Assitant Project and to Raspberry Pi.

En the Home Assistant Project Several IoT projects and companies participate that have requested the collaboration of the Tor Network to create this unique and curious project that will attract the attention of more than one.

Home Assistant will provide us with a security wall thanks to Raspberry Pi and the Tor Network

The operation of Home Assitant is quite simple that it will provide great security to a technology still unknown to many. On the Internet of Things we have large projects and it is expected that it will be a not too distant future, however we do not know basic aspects such as security or the risks that the user may have.

In this case the Tor network works as a security island between the outside and smart devices. Thus, with Home Assistant, all communications will go through the same port that will be controlled by Tor, in such a way that the information enters the Tor Network and any user outside the connection between the smart device and the outside will lose track of it. For this, Home Assitant makes use or help of a Raspberry Pi board where the modified version of Tor is introduced so that it communicates with the hardware that we indicate.

Unfortunately Home Assistant is an incipient project in which there is not yet a final product, but it is a project that will not take long to give results to the end user and the Hardware Libre In general, a project that will offer more security to those of us who do not know how to control the software we use on our hardware as much as we would like. Do not you think?
