Some time ago we had the opportunity to discover that the New York Fire Department was interested in investigating what drones could offer to help them extinguish any fire, whatever its origin, intensity or location.
As a detail, tell you that in the specific case of the New York fire department, they use a unit like the one you see on the screen, a drone model whose price rises up to U.S. dollar 85.000 and that, among other characteristics, stands out for being equipped with two cameras, one of them in high definition while the other is infrared.
This is what the drone used by the New York fire department looks like.
Thanks to these two cameras, the drone controller can, live, offer images to the firefighter who is in charge of the extinguishing operation. Thanks to this you can know what is happening at all times from a completely different perspective being able to give orders and modifying the previous ones by radio to all the personnel who work in the front line.
As you can see, we are talking about a very expensive product that must be paid for by the department although, on the other hand, the truth is that the help that having an asset like this can offer them when putting out a fire is quite important already that allows its extinction in a way much faster while being able to offer a greater security to the firefighters who are carrying out the extinguishing maneuvers.
Finally note that we are talking about a drone that does not return through a battery but has a cable that supplies you with electrical current at all times, something that allows you to fly for hours. In turn, this cable serves to transmit the commands to the drone issued by the controller, which allows no interference of any kind with radio frequencies.
