They transform a PS4 into a Nintendo with cartridges

PS4 cartridge

Although the hack itself is not very there, a fan of classic video games has managed to transform a Playstation 4 into a classic Nintendo, the NES, admitting current cartridges.

The system created is simple and easy to do thanks to a 3D printer. This system is based on the one hand on creating a support for the PS4 that allows the old cartridges to be accommodated and on the other hand on transforming a 2,5 ″ hard drive into an old cartridge, this is done thanks to 3D printing.

The downside of this customization is that the system itself will not allow the use of old cartridges, but on the other hand, it will allow us to play new video games but with a more retro look.

Converting a PS4 to an NES will make us pirate current video games

In the support that we created for the PS4, we add a SATA cable and a plug that will connect with the cartridge. The SATA cable will connect the cartridge with the PS4, remember that the cartridge will actually be a 2,5 ″ hard drive so the connection is simple and does not need any configuration. What we will need are special images or special files for video games, since don't forget that copying the dvd is so far illegal. Thus we will have to perform several protection removal processes to create the necessary files to use in the cartridge. These processes are further detailed by the creator of the project. Here we will simply echo it and say that there really is the possibility of pirating video games from the PS4, nothing more.

For those of you who want to spend money to turn your PS4 into a NES, here I leave you the files you need to print not only the cartridges but also the adapter to read the cartridges.

In a simple but expensive hack since you not only have to print the cartridges but you also have to buy a small hard drive for each cartridge, which makes the game quite expensive.

But I think that the interest raised by this hack will not be to transform a PS4 into an NES but the fact that there are already current video games that can be used pirated on the PS4, something that will certainly not only raise blisters but that many readers will read Slowly.

I personally lean towards other options when it comes to playing old video games, such as creating a portable console With a Raspberry Pi or simply using an emulator and a ROM from my pc, they are cheap and legal solutions, but for those who like danger, they will always have this option and it will also help them to practice with the 3D printer.
