For a few days in the Arduino ecosystem they have a new board, Tsunami, a plate hardware libre which is capable of processing the analog signal to transform it into a digital signal or to play with this signal for other purposes such as connecting with amplifiers.
Tsunami now has the maximum compatibility with Arduino, being its microprocessor compatible or similar with the Arduino Leonardo chip.
Tsunami is not properly an Arduino project but Arachnid Labs, however these two projects have been joined so that both Tsunami and the rest of the Arduino boards have the best possible compatibility, just as Arduino is currently doing with other boards and projects such as ARTIK from Samsung.

But Tsunami is not an independent board like Arduino Mega or Arduino Leonardo, so we won't be able to do large projects with Tsunami only, but we will need some more accessory or board, but even with this the number of projects that can be done with Tsunami and Arduino are many.
Perhaps the most classic but no less interesting example is being able to process the analog signal and therefore be able to convert cassette tapes to digital files or video tapes to digital videos. But we can also use Tsunami to build a shortwave radio transmitter or use it to make test filters, without forgetting that we can always use it to help us teach about analog signals and about the hardware libre.
At the moment Tsunami is in the financing phase through through crowdfunding, something that will change in August of this year, where it will be put on sale and even more so with this new alliance that will surely help Tsunami, if or if it obtains the necessary financing to move forward.
The truth is that by itself, Tsunami does not seem very, very interesting to me, but accompanied by a good board, like Arduino Mega or also, perhaps, Raspberry Pi, the number of projects and interest grows exponentially. Surely after the sale, Tsunami will receive many projects and experiments where this plate is used.
