Udoo, a true all-in-one board

udoo X86

More and more plates are used Hardware Libre, boards like Arduino or Raspberry Pi. In some projects we need some boards, in other projects we use different ones and in some others we can use all the most powerful boards on the market or simply opt for Udoo x86.

Udoo is a plate that we have known for a year thanks to a crowdfunding campaign, but now it has returned with another crowdfunding campaign in which the power is not saved but increases. Udoo X86 is characterized by being an SBC board that has more power than the Raspberry Pi 3 itself and also has a built-in circuit similar to Arduino and its entire platform, so in addition to have a fork of Raspberry Pi, we will have a solution for Arduino.

Udoo X86 has more power than 4 Raspberry Pi's put together

In addition to the resources it shares with both platforms, Udoo has two processors, a 2,56 Ghz Intel Pentium quadcore processor and an Arm Atmel processor. The amount of ram memory is 8 Gb although some sources say that the amount is higher. The GPIO port that Udoo has is the most complete with more than 76 pins. The hdmi output not only ensures connection to any monitor or television but also offers 4K playback. The traditional ethernet port It is also present like the usb ports, an output for SATA and it also has a wifi module that will allow us to use Udoo as a board for IoT. The internal storage has no problems, although it will come with a kit to connect a 128 Gb ssd disk. The power supply in this case will not be 5v but will have to use a 12v power supply, in any case, it is natural that such a power needs a greater energy source.

Udoo X86 is a very powerful board, perhaps the most powerful on the market, plus you can use any resource that Raspberry Pi and Arduino have, that is, an interesting product, but despite all this, Udoo X86 is not yet in the market and its price it won't be the same as an Arduino board or a Raspberry Pi board, although their purposes seem not to be the same What do you think?
