Windows 10 Anniversary Update now supports Raspberry Pi 3

Raspberry Pi 2

A few days ago, Microsoft released the update version of Windows 10, a version that was launched on the occasion of the anniversary of the launch of Windows 10 and that in addition to bringing bug fixes, Windows 10 Anniversary Update is compatible with Raspberry Pi 3.

Windows 10 as well as its IoT Core version was launched a year agoAt that time, only Raspberry Pi 2 existed, that is why now with the Anniversary Update, Microsoft has included support for Raspberry Pi 3 as well as other interesting news.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update now supports the new Raspberry Pi boards

The new version not only incorporates support for the new raspberry board but also incorporates integration with the Microsoft Store that will allow the use of third-party applications as well as an integration with Arduino programs that makes it easier to connect Raspberry Pi 3 and Arduino boards.

Raspberry Pi 3 is not the only board that has been supported in the new version of Windows 10 IoT Core. In this case also support has been included for the Dragonboard 410c and Minnowboard Max boards, boards that can now have Windows 10 IoT Core, thanks to Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Noobs gets his "anniversary" fix, too.

The popular distribution that starts the novice Raspberry Pi user is also compatible with Windows 10, so now the user can choose in the 8 Gb version the operating system they want, including IoT Core, although Windows 10 Anniversary Update is not an operating system such as Raspbian or other Gnu / Linux distribution.

Personally I think this update will be very interesting for those who use Windows 10 on their Raspberry Pi boards although I don't know if it really Windows 10 Anniversary Update can make Raspberry Pi 3 show us its full potential and if it does, let it do so without burning the plate. I think not, although surely many others will think otherwise. What do you think?
