Now available Compute Module 3, the reduced board of Raspberry Pi

Compute Module 3

The Raspberry Pi Foundation has officially unveiled its new Compute Module 3, a version of its Raspberry Pi board that many have been waiting for. Before the famous Raspberry Pi Zero, Raspberry Pi launched a reduced version that was shaped like ram memory and that was ideal for IoT projects or where you do not need so many outputs but little space. This version was known as Compute Module and like this version, the new Compute Module 3 is based on Raspberry Pi 3.

Compute Module 3 comes in two versions, one normal and another Lite that together with the plate or Board will adapt to the needs of the users. On the other hand, the Board will be compatible with the original modules, that is, the previous versions and Compute Module. Versions that will continue to be sold but at a lower price than usual.

Compute Module Board will be compatible with Compute Module 3 and earlier

Compute Module 3 comes with a BCM2837 processor, 1 Gb of ram and 4 Gb of eMMC memory. The lite version is almost the same except for the eMMC memory that is suppressed and will be replaced by the microSD slot. The CVompute Module Board will be the board where any module of this type can be connected. The latest version will be compatible with any Compute Module, however it does not seem like the other way around or at least nothing is said about it.

The price of this type of Raspberry Pi is $ 30 for the regular version and $ 25 for the Lite version. Furthermore, la Board will be priced at approximately $ 100. The previous Compute Module, the first version, will continue to be sold but at a price of $ 25.

The launch of this new version was something that had been rumored for a long time and we already have it here, but you have to know that no es válido para todos los proyectos de Hardware LibreSome projects do not need something as accurate and expensive as the Compute Module 3, keep that in mind.
