Zocus, an invention capable of brightening the life of a young man with crystal skin

Zocus

Many are the diseases that today, although we might think otherwise, have no cure. One of them is bullous epidermolysis, better known as'crystal skin', a disease that directly affects the skin causing painful blisters. This is precisely the type of disease you have James dunn, a 23-year-old British man who, precisely because of it, had to stop doing what he liked the most, taking pictures, because he could no longer properly hold or use the controls of his camera.

Now all this can change a lot thanks to the invention of Jude Pullen, a famous engineer and designer who has created a system that can be manufactured using a 3D printer and allows James Dunn control your camera from a tablet. The name with which this project has been baptized is Zocus and has seen life thanks to the BBC television program 'The Big Life Fix', a series that seeks to help people with problems to improve their quality of life.

Zocus, a system made by 3D printing that allows you to control your DSLR camera from a tablet.

It was precisely in this program where Jude Pullen, at the time, designed and manufactured Zocus although, now and in the face of James Dunn's problems, the engineer has decided to significantly improve the behavior of the system to be able to remotely control elements such as the zoom and the focus, plus other settings on any type of DSLR camera. As a detail, tell you that, for the specific case they had to face, they decided to adapt, as you can see in the video located just above these lines, the entire system to the camera Canon 550D.

As Pullen himself has commented, anyone who is interested can take the project and create their own Zocus system, the total cost of manufacturing will be around $ 250. If you do not have a 3D printer or do not have access to one, you can easily search online for some type of company that offers printing and home delivery services.
