Zowi, an intelligent robot for the little ones

Zowi

At the beginning of September we learned about the new products of the company BQ, a company that has created an intelligent robot that is made up of Hardware Libre and a casing that can be replaced by own housings and printed with a 3D Printer.

Zowi has in memory a preloaded software factory that will allow once out of the box, Zowi run smart. This makes Zowi jump, walk, and even react to or touch the case. Zowi also has an app for Android That will allow us not only to add movements but also for our tablet or our smartphone to function as a remote control of the robot.

bitloq, the famous bq software it will also be compatible with Zowi. This type of software will allow the little ones that Zowi have personality and can do things that only they create or program. Bitloq is a simple program that is designed so that the little ones can program and learn to program.

The appearance of Zowi is something important for its users and for its creators, therefore, in addition to incorporating a series of stickers that encourage Zowi, BQ has added the possibility that they can be print interchangeable cases and are used in Zowi. The latter is somewhat difficult since not all of us have a 3D printer with which to modify the appearance of Zowi, but it is an interesting feature.

Zowi will be released at price of EUR 99 although its real cost will be 129 euros. An adequate price if we take into account the learning options, but somewhat expensive when compared to other children's robots. But of course, the educational aspect is very interesting in Zowi.

Personally I find Zowi very interesting although its minimalist look the truth that retracts me. Just having a head with legs leaves me with the idea that few things can be done with it, but the reality is quite different What do you think?

I have had the opportunity to try Zowi and I really love it! It has so many options that in the end it can be used by almost any child: for the little ones it can become a dancing pet of RadioControl, when they grow a little more they can program it with bitloq and when they decide to go a step further they can even print them housings. It's great!
