These days the new film in the Alien saga is being promoted, a film that is attracting a lot of attention. This has made some maker users, fans of the saga, decide to create projects that simulate some gadgets from the movie.

The youtuber Evan kale is one of these brave users who have uploaded a video where he explains how to create an alien door or rather an extraterrestrial portal.

As you can see in the video, Evan Kale has used a strip of led lights connected to an Arduino Nano board and a controller. The bottom of the door has been covered with pokemon cards. The use of these cards is not for game purposes but for the simple fact that the placement of the colors of letters help led lights to blur and expand the brightness of the lights, thus creating the alien door effect. But we can also change the use of the cards for several posters with similar images.

The cost of this project is quite low and the decorative result is very high, although of course, a decoration for lovers of aliens and the Alien saga. The price of the elements is not very high since in addition we use an Arduino Nano board but only because of the size, that is, we can recycle any Arduino board for it.

In the video we can not only see the construction method but also we can the list of materials needed, the code necessary to make all the hardware work and how to achieve all this in a short time.

Evan Kale has used a door for this project but fine we can use any other element, such as a box, a window or simply a bathroom mirror. Any item is good for creating an alien door.
