Like many other countries, the Spanish Army is suffering too much to defend its base in Mosul against possible attacks by the Iraqi Army. As we have talked about on other occasions, one of the big problems they must face is the use of small drones modified to literally act as flying bombs controlled from several dozen meters away.
Due precisely to this problem, it was finally announced that the Ministry of Defense of Spain has urgently purchased several anti-drone systems Auds Designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom by the manufacturer Blighter. The purchase of these novel anti-drone systems has involved a cost of close to two million euros.

Going into a little more detail, tell you that the AUDS systems that the Spanish Army will use at its Mosul base are capable of overriding devices whose weight is less than 9 kilograms in a maximum radius of up to 10 kilometers. The most interesting thing is that the team, in turn, once the drone is eliminated, can follow its signal to be able to interfere and even detect where it comes from.
This is possible thanks to the fact that this impressive and innovative system has been equipped with elements such as a Blighter A400 series air safety radar capable of working in the Ku band offering a maximum range of 10 kilometers with a horizontal coverage of 180 degrees and a vertical coverage of 10 or 20 degrees depending on the chosen antenna.
Once a soft has been detected, these data are passed to the Hawkeye tracking module manufactured by Chess Dynamics that, thanks to its Piranha 46 high-resolution camera and its high-density thermal camera, it is able to locate and follow the detected drone by recording all its movements.
Finally we have a disruptor module, a radiophonic directional inhibitor built by the specialist Enterprise Control Systems equipped with a high gain antenna that works in five frequency bands. All this technology enables AUDS to be able to detect, jam, and override a drone's control signal in just 15 seconds.
