EnvisionTEC delights us with no less than 7 new materials for 3D printers

EnvisionTEC

EnvisionTEC has been in the news recently after the presentation of no less than 7 new materials dedicated exclusively to be used in 3D printing, materials that, as is customary in its brand, can only, in principle, be used by the models created by the firm.

Going into detail, we find 3 new exclusive materials for type printers tray photopolymerization while the remaining four have been designed to be used by the 3D bioprinters from EnvisionTEC. The presentation of these new materials has taken place taking advantage of the RAPID + TCT fair held these days in the city of Pittsburgh, United States.

EnvisionTEC presents up to 7 new exclusive materials for its 3D printers.

Based on the statements made by Al Siblani, CEO of EnvisionTEC:

This new offering shows our commitment to the development of materials, as well as a close relationship with our customers, who have asked us to develop specific materials for our reliable and precise equipment.

Among the seven new materials we find products for all kinds of uses such as:

  • E-CE, a rigid, heat and chemical resistant material comparable to other cyanate-based materials. With a thermal deflection of up to 170 ºC, it is indicated for situations where thermal stability is required.
  • Epoxy, a material with the inclusion of biomaterials and double cured, which allows making resistant pieces even with thin walls. They highlight its good relationship between flexibility, hardness and thermal resistance.
  • E-Model Flex On the other hand, it is a material for precise modeling, with an elongation until break improved, it will be offered in yellow and green colors.
  • Silicon TG, a technical silicone for fabricating soft surgical models, such as the nose or breasts. Curing does not need activation, taking place in a few hours with very little shrinkage.
  • PCL 45K RG, a research grade polycaprolactone (PCL) for tissue engineering applications. This PCL offers mechanical stability by controlling the porosity of the piece, ideal for use in bone and cartilage regeneration, as well as allowing the release of drugs during its bioabsorption process, estimated between one to three years.
  • LT Support RG, a saccharide material derived from cellulose, used for removable supports. It can be processed as a hydrogel and dissolves in distilled water. It is biocompatible and does not affect the biological properties of the final piece. This material has a temperature of use of 23 ºC.
  • HT Support RGIt is another support material for high temperatures, it works at 150 ºC. It is a derivative of sugars and dissolves in distilled water at room temperature in a few minutes.
