Arduino IDE is now available for Raspberry Pi and other minicomputers

Arduino IDE

By now surely you already know the minicomputer functions that SBC boards like Raspberry Pi or Banana Pi can perform. These functions are in many cases limited by the ARM platform, a practical platform that is incompatible with many applications.

But little by little the developers are creating apps for this platform such as the Arduino Project, which has recently launched a version of its famous IDE for ARM platforms. Thus Arduino IDE is available for Raspberry Pi and any other Gnu / Linux distribution that is embedded for SBC boards.Currently this version of the Arduino IDE is under development and only works experimentally or at least this is indicated on the official website of the project, we can use it and make it work but stability and full operation are not assured. Even so, those who have tested this version with their Arduino boards certify its good operation.

Arduino IDE is now available on Raspberry Pi and other SBC boards

The most curious thing about all this is that this version will allow the connection between Raspberry Pi and the latest Arduino boards to be better, to the point that the Raspberry Pi itself will be able to create specific applications and software for any Arduino board that can also be connected to Raspberry Pi and that works as a single board or electronics of any of our projects.

In the case of having Raspbian as the operating system on our Raspberry Pi, the Arduino IDE installation can be done through the terminal, by typing:

sudo apt-get install Arduino

And if you don't have Raspbian as your operating system or you can't find a way to install this IDE, you can always go to the official website where you will find the necessary packages for the installation of Arduino in any Linux distribution as well as a small installation guide in any distribution for Raspberry Pi.
