BeeHex invites you to try its pizzas created by 3D printing

BeeHex

BeeHex is one of those companies related to the world of 3D printing that has managed to revolutionize the market in its own way. Not in vain are we talking about a company that is literally in charge of creating the method and especially the technology it uses NASA to make the pizzas that astronauts will later eat on the International Space Station.

Going back a bit in time, we find that BeeHex was founded in 2015 by Ben Feltner, Chintan Kanuga, Anjan French, and Jordan French. The basic idea was precisely to be able to make fresh pizza with the best ingredients by means of 3D printing technologies. This project, once mature enough, caught the attention of NASA who did not hesitate to award them a grant of 125.000 dollars per year in order that they could develop their printer.

BeeHex will be responsible for making sure the astronauts on the International Space Station can eat freshly made pizza.

The manufacturing process is quite simple, taking advantage of a heated base the first thing is create the dough that cooks little by little to later create the first layer of tomato mixed with water and oil. In the following steps, a new protein layer and additional layers are superimposed with the different ingredients.

Thanks to this separate operation it is possible to prepare pizzas of different sizes and shapes as well as with different toppings. As a detail, tell you that making a ready-to-eat pizza this mechanism takes only four minutes, less than half the time that a human being would need using traditional techniques.
