Boeing shows its new electric drone capable of carrying up to 200 kilograms

Boeing

Practically all technology companies know very well that the world of the drone can mean a huge increase in their large accounts, a market capable of giving great benefits that many multinationals are betting on. One of them is Boeing, which aims to revolutionize the sector by offering something that many are working for but none seem to achieve.

As you well know, for the professional market to be flooded with drones, only two premises need to be met, or apparently only one, in response to current demands. On the one hand, and this seems to be non-negotiable, drones must be able to carry much more weight while, apparently as a very desirable option, autonomy should be much greater.

The electric drone developed by Boeing engineers is already capable of carrying up to 200 kilograms of weight

In this case we have to talk about Boeing, a company that has just announced that they have managed to develop an unmanned electric vehicle capable of carrying a payload of up to 200 kilograms in weight. To achieve this, a drone equipped with eight motors has been developed that measures about five meters long and wide, 1 meters high, weighing about 20 kilograms.

As explained David neely, a member of Boeing's research and technology department:

By extending the range, you extend the payload to deliver 100-200kg within a 15-30 kilometer radius, you can change the way the world connects and the way products are delivered.

For his part and according to statements by steve nordlund, Vice President of Boeing HorizonX:

Our new CAV prototype builds on Boeing's existing unmanned systems capabilities and presents new possibilities for autonomous cargo delivery, logistics, and other transportation applications.

The safe integration of unmanned aerial systems is vital to unleashing their full potential. Boeing has an unmatched track record, regulatory expertise, and a systematic approach to delivering solutions that will shape the future of autonomous flight.
