Improve the quality of your 3D prints with this simple trick

abs trick

Many are the users who little by little enter the world of 3D printing and, as such, at least for the moment, they are not willing to pay more for a technology that they hardly know. Due to this, today I want to show you a fairly simple and interesting trick with which to get all your 3D prints in ABS to show a result of great more quality. We will focus on ABS as it is one of the most used materials on the domestic market.

The idea, you can see a detailed video located just below these lines, is as simple as using acetone, a very powerful solvent that can undo ABS. As you are probably thinking, the trick is as simple as using the vapors of your own aceone in order to smooth the model. For this you will need to have a tray prepared, a glass in which you can loosely hold your printed object, paper, a piece of cardboard and, finally, a small metal platform.

Get much more attractive results when 3D printing with ABS thanks to acetone.

As you can see in the video, once the piece we want to polish is printed, we must place it on the tray. Inside the glass, right at the bottom, we must place the acetone-soaked paper held with the piece of cardboard. At this point we must bear in mind that acetone fumes are toxic so it is best to make sure we do this work in a very well ventilated place. Once we have all these steps, we only have to place the piece in its support on a tray with water and cover it with the glass.

Once the piece has the result we want, we just have to remove the glass and wait for it to dry completely. One evolves from this little trick, as you can see at the end of the video, is place a small fan inside in order to force the flow of vapors to move throughout the interior of the glass.
