LibreCalc, a free and printable calculator

Although many of you think that I am going to talk about one of the programs in the LibreOffice office suite, the reality is quite different. LibreCalc is a calculator created with free software and hardware libre and whose pieces or rather most of them are printable.

The LibreCalc project has its origin in France, in two young French people, Pierre Parent and Ael Gain, who were looking for the possibility of creating a scientific calculator that had an affordable price but did not lose performance, in addition, LibreCalc can not only be programmed to your liking but the hardware being free, we can change it and expand it to our needs .

LibreCalc is in this websites in which we can find all the files and documents necessary to build our own calculator. In addition LibreCalc allows us to solve algebra questions thanks to its screen and the embedded system that it carries, which is a complete system based on Gnu / Linux.

The LibreCalc processor is an imx233, accessible and economical, it also has about 128 mb of ram memory. Both the keyboard and the casing are printable and the battery and the display are very cheap and easy to find in any market or on the Internet.

LibreCalc has an ergonomic design that can be customized

LibreCalc designs have been created in order to obtain maximum ergonomics, but nothing is fixed, as they are distributed in free files, we can use it for our own design or customize it to our liking, such as adding our name or that of our son and thus avoid unwanted losses.

The only thing that cannot be seen on the LibreCalc website is the financial report of the project, the authors say that the result is worth it but of course you have to assess yourself, even so LibreCalc seems like a great idea to me, not only for daily operation but also for a more scientific and specialized operation that we could even program for a certain task that calculators on the market could not contemplate. This project is certainly worth pursuing Do not you think?
