OpenDesk, a project to make our office more free if possible

Free Hardware has made many users change their old cpu for an SBC board that works like a mini pc. Something that has been possible thanks to Raspberry Pi. 3D printing has also made our desks let's have a 3D printer totally free in addition to this mini pc.

We would only have a free desk and chair, something that is already possible thanks to the OpenDesk project and its various designs that will help to have the office with less exclusive and freer elements.

OpenDesk is a repository with office furniture designs. These designs can not only be seen but also they can be downloaded and played as many times as we want. We build the furniture ourselves but you will only need the wood and a cutter that will do the most work.

The creators of OpenDesk try that with this repository pollution is reduced and the environment is taken care of but also that the community acquires a development mechanism that reduces the carbon footprint since with this it is not necessary to spend transportation or use large polluting machines.

The result of all this is called OpenDesk, an interesting repository that will make let's have a fully functional office and for little money, because like Raspberry Pi or 3D Printers, the cost of these desks is less than the cost of some office furniture that we can buy in other places such as Ikea, despite the fact that the process and result is almost the same.

From the point of view of Free Hardware, OpenDesk is more interesting than Ikea and other companies because having the designs on the computer, we can modify and adapt them to our needs like adding an SBC board or a hole for the 3D printer and even some panel to connect with our Arduino board, something that cannot happen in prefabricated furniture.
